WHAT PAMATON AND WHAT IT IS USED
Pamaton combined medicinal product containing both potassium and magnesium ions.
Potassium ions are involved in conducting nerve impulses in the transmission of nervous excitement in abbreviation skeletal muscle, heart and smooth muscle. The breach in the potassium concentration results in impairment in normal functioning of nerves and muscles, including the heart muscle.
Magnesium is an indispensable element in the processes related to the delivery and consumption of energy. He participated in the balance of electrolytes in the body, transport of ions, membrane permeability, neuromuscular excitability.
Aspartic acid enhances the transport of the potassium and magnesium ions.
Pamato has the following applications:
For the treatment of conditions associated with electrolyte disturbances in blood and loss of electrolytes - hypomagnesemia (low content of magnesium in the blood) and hypokalemia (decreased potassium in the blood):
• During prolonged vomiting and profuse diarrhea (a debilitating and prolonged disorder).
• As adjunctive therapy in the treatment of certain heart rhythm disturbances caused by changes in electrolyte balance.
For prevention in patients with congestive heart failure who were treated with potassium sparing diuretics (drugs increasing urine output) and digitalis.

The increase in potassium level, thus decreasing the effect of digitalis products.
Magnesium potentiates the effects of muscle relaxants and central depressant effects of anesthetics and reduces the effects of neomycin, streptomycin, polymyxin B.
Can inhibit the absorption of orally ingested tetracyclines, iron salts and sodium fluoride. This requires leaving an interval of about three hours between their administration and application of Pamaton®. Calcium products reduce the effect of magnesium.
