What is PHYSIOTENS and what is it used?
Each tablet contains 0.2 or 0.4 mg moxonidine. PHYSIOTENS is used to treat hypertension.
How does PHYSIOTENS?
PHYSIOTENS selective imidazoline receptor agonist (Syrah). In various animal models PHYSIOTENS is shown that has a strong antihypertensive action. The available experimental data suggest that the site of the antihypertensive action of PHYSIOTENS is the CNS (central nervous system). It has been shown that so-called PHYSIOTENSactivated selectively. imidazoline receptors in the brainstem. These receptors are extremely important for the central control of the peripheral sympathetic nervous system Their activation leads to a reduction in sympathetic activity and to lower blood pressure.
PHYSIOTENS differs in that it exhibits only a low affinity for known alpha-2-adrenoceptors, in relation to its effects on the imidazoline receptors. This affinity explains the low incidence of depression of the nervous system (calming) or dry mouth when administering PHYSIOTENS
In humans PHYSIOTENS leads to a reduction of systemic vascular resistance and thus a reduction of blood pressure. Antihypertensive effect of Fiziotens has been proven in double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trials. .In Bimonthly therapeutic study has found Mr. improving insulin sensitivity by 21% when administering Fiziotens compared to placebo in patients with obesity and insulin resistant degree with an average grade hypertension.
2. Before you start taking PHYSIOTENS
Do not take PHYSIOTENS if:
- You are allergic to any component of the product
- Suffer from the syndrome or sick sinus bradycardia (your pulse at rest is below 50 beats per minute).
Take special care when taking PHYSIOTENS
If Fiziotens is used concomitantly with beta-blocker and if the two drugs should be discontinued, the beta-blocker should be discontinued first and only then to be stopped PHYSIOTENS
When taken with other medicines:
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any medicines, even those not prescribed.
Coadministration with other medicines for high blood pressure:
PHYSIOTENS used safely with thiazide diuretics and calcium channel blockers. Concomitant intake with these and with other antihypertensive agents leads to additive (pooled effect overlay effects) efekt.Pri healthy volunteers were observed pharmacokinetic interaction when applying PHYSIOTENS with hydraulic ohlortiazid, glibenclamide (glyburide), or digoksin.Tay as tricyclic antidepressants may reduce the effects of centrally-acting antihypertensive drugs is not recommended tricyclic antidepressants be co-administered with Fiziotens. There were no interactions with any farmokodinamichni moklobemid.Fiziotens leads to some improvement in impaired kongnitivna (cognitive) function in patients receiving lorazepam. Fiziotens may enhance the sedative (soothing) effect of benzodiazepines when administered concomitantly.
pregnancy
No clinical studies Fiziotens child. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects on pregnancy, embryonal / fetal development, birth and after birth period. Caution should be used if prescribed to pregnant women.
breastfeeding
PHYSIOTENS is excreted in breast milk. Women lactating should be advised against breastfeeding while receiving treatment with PHYSIOTENS or stop taking the drug.
Driving and using machines
There is no evidence to suggest that PHYSIOTENS adversely affects driving or operating machinery. Drowsiness and dizziness. This should be taken into account in the implementation of these activities.
Important information about some of the ingredients of PHYSIOTENS
Lactose monohydrate: If your doctor has told you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact him before taking this medicine.
3. How to take PHYSIOTENS?
The usual starting dose is 0.2 mg Fiziotens day with a maximum daily dose of 0.6 mg, given as two divided doses. The maximum single dose which could be administered is 0.4 mg. The daily dose is determined according to individual response to patsienta.PHYSIOTENS can be taken with or without hrana.Pri patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, the starting dose is 0.2 mg daily. If necessary and well tolerated, the dose may be increased to 0.4 mg dnevno.Pri hemodialysis patients the initial dose is 0.2 mg daily. If necessary and well tolerated, the dose may be increased to 0.4 mg dnevno.Ne defined safety and effectiveness of Fiziotens in patients under 18 years.
If you take a large amount PHYSIOTENS than you should:
Symptoms of overdose
There have been some cases of overdose in absorbed dose to 16 mg with no fatalities. Reported signs and symptoms include: headache, sedapiya, drowsiness, low blood pressure, dizziness, malaise, bradycardia (slow heart rate), dry mouth, vomiting, fatigue and stomach pains.
In cases of overdose, according to data from several toxicological tests on animals can be obtained hypertension (high blood pressure), tachycardia (increased heart rate) and hyperglycemia (high blood sugar).
Management of overdose
There is no specific antidote. In cases of hypotension (low blood pressure) is recommended circulating maintenance such as fluid intake and administration of dopamine. Bradycardia can be treated with atropine, Alpha-receptor antagonist could reduce or eliminate the paradoxical hypertensive effect of overdose Fiziotens.
If you forget to take your dose PHYSIOTENS
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Effects when discontinuing treatment with PHYSIOTENS
PHYSIOTENS treatment should not be stopped suddenly.
