1. What are Free Radicals?
Free radicals are atoms that have a free electron in their electronic envelope. Free radicals are very unstable, so after their formation, they react instantly with other compounds or elements that also become free radicals. So there begins a chain reaction leading to the formation of new and new highly reactive elements and compounds that can damage the body's cells by attacking their DNA or cell membrane.
To protect against the damaging effects of free radicals, our body has a protective antioxidant system.
2. What are antioxidants?
Antioxidants are molecules that safely interact with free radicals without themselves converting into unstable compounds and interrupting their chain reaction before they damage organisms that are vital to the body.
The antioxidant protective system is made up of enzymes, vitamins and trace elements that function in close interrelation
1. ENZYMES
Superoxide dismutase (SOD)
SOD is a powerful antioxidant that protects the cells from the toxic action of oxygen when it itself becomes a free radical, the so-called "superoxide radical". SOD is found in all the most important tissues of the body, but a particular role is in the cells of the lung and skin. As the age grows, the body produces less and less superoxide dismutase, which greatly determines the aging process.
Catalase
Catalase is another important enzyme found in the cells of the skin, bone marrow, liver, kidneys and mucous membranes, and neutralizes the free radicals formed in these organs and tissues as a result of their natural function.
2. VITAMINS
Vitamin E
The most widely spread fat soluble antioxidant in the human body. One of the most effective antioxidants that stops the chain reaction of free radicals in all tissues containing lipids as well as in the cell membrane. Vitamin E plays a key role in the normal functioning of a number of hormones, enzymes, lipids, as well as the erythrocyte membrane, the epithelium of the respiratory system and the skin.
Vitamin C
The most widely spread water-soluble antioxidant in the human body. It acts mainly in the cage. Particularly important is its role in neutralizing the free radicals formed as a result of cigarette smoke and environmental pollution.
Pro-vitamin A (β-carotene)
Pro-vitamin A is a fat soluble antioxidant that complements the antioxidant action of vitamin E. Part of pro-vitamin A is converted to vitamin A (retinol) that has no antioxidant activity but plays a key role in a number of vital processes. The role of vitamin A in the formation of ocular pigments as well as in the growth of epithelial cells, skeleton and reproductive organs has been proven. Increases the body's resistance to cold and other adverse environmental influences.
3. MICROELEMINATES
Selene
Selenium belongs to the group of microelements in the human body. It is a component of one of the enzyme systems neutralizing certain free radicals that damage lipid structures in tissues. Selenium and vitamin E mutually enhance their effect as antioxidants. Selenium plays an important role in the normal functioning of the pancreas, which is necessary for the absorption of vitamin E. Vitamin E reduces selenium losses in the body and maintains it in its active form.
3. Wheat germ
Wheat germ is the richest natural source of antioxidants, as well as many other enzymes, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Of particular importance for its antioxidant activity is the high content of the enzymes SOD and Catalase.
4. Indications and method of administration
NEOXID is a powerful and balanced antioxidant formula that:
Neutralizes free radicals;
Helps maintain a healthy blood flow;
Helps work the heart muscles and the proper functioning of the heart;
It has a positive influence on physical growth and fertility;
Affects positively the skin and hair growth;
It acts favorably to maintain the well-being of joints;
Increases the body's endurance to cold and other adverse environmental influences;
Supports the functions of the respiratory system, especially for smokers;
It acts favorably in maintaining the hormonal balance in the body in physiological norms.
Take NEOXID in a single daily dose, unless your doctor has recommended otherwise.
5. Side Effects
All the active ingredients of NEOXID exist in the human body, so the side effects of the preparation can only occur when overdosed. The clinical manifestations of overdose are mainly due to fat-soluble vitamin E and β-carotene, and in very rare cases the selenium microelement.
In case of overdose of β-carotene, yellowing of the skin on the palms and feet, but not the sclera, loss of appetite and swelling.
Overdose with vitamin E is a risk factor for pregnancy and can seriously harm the fetus and the newborn. Overdose of selenium occurs with hair loss, nail damage and polyneuritis.
In very rare cases, there is an intolerance to the active ingredients or excipients in the tablet formulation. If you experience rash, itching, swelling of the lips and face or shortness of breath after taking NEOXID, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.
6. Contraindications
Hypervitaminoses A and E.
7. Storage
Keep the product at room temperature out of reach of children.
Keep NEOXID in the original package. Do not use the preparation after its expiration or if the integrity of the packaging is impaired.
