What is Gymnema Sylvestre?
Gymnema Sylvestre is an Indian herb known for centuries. Biovea using pure Gymnema Sylvestre Extract (5: 1), which is the most desired manner. Pullulan is a polysaccharide that provides a synergistic improvement of the properties of Gymnema Sylvester.

Member of the family Euphorbiaceae and is native to tropical regions of India. Called "sugar destroyer" because the leaves effectively block sweet taste in the mouth during chewing.


How does Gymnema Sylvestre?

Generations of people in India with diabetes successfully control their blood sugar, chewing this herb. Several small placebo-controlled trials have shown that extracts of Gymnema may actually reduce blood sugar levels. In one study, 27 people with type 1 diabetes who received extract of Gymnema leaves for several months reduced the dose of insulin. Animal studies also support this performance. Gymnema can double the amount of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, and the normalization of blood glucose levels.

In the case of type 2 diabetes - insulin-dependent diabetes is not, the results of the tests show that the use of Gymnema can improve glycemic control and may lead to a need for lower doses of the oral diabetic medicines.

Traditional Ayurvedic medicine uses Gymnema to treat many other diseases, including digestive problems, cough, constipation, and malaria. Animal studies suggest a possible role of Gymnema in lowering cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL ("bad") cholesterol, but more research is needed.
