What WZF 0,1% xylometazoline nasal drops , solution and what it is used
Xylometazoline is a derivative of imidazoline . Has sympathomimetic . Application to the mucosa of the nose, causing constriction of blood vessels , swelling removes , inhibits mucosal hyperaemia of the nasopharynx and reduce the amount of mucus .
To reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in acute fever, bouts of profuse nasal discharge ( vasomotor rhinitis) , allergic rhinitis ( allergic rhinitis) .

2 . Before using xylometazoline WZF 0,1%
Do not use xylometazoline WZF 0,1% if reported any of the following :
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients ;
Glaucoma ;
Hypophysectomy or other cranial intervention;
Dry atrophic rhinitis (rhinitis sicca).
Use xylometazoline WZF 0,1% with caution :
In patients following administration of sympathomimetics , the following symptoms: insomnia , dizziness , tremor, hypertension or arrhythmia ;
C Patients circulatory disorders (hypertension , angina pectoris ) , diabetes , glaucoma , prostatic hypertrophy , hyperthyroidism. Patients with these conditions should consult a doctor before starting treatment with xylometazoline WZF 0,1%.
With continued use, there is a danger of atrophy of the nasal mucosa and therefore the application is limited to 7 days.

Use in children :
Do not use in children under 2 years.
Children under 6 years of age medicine is dispensed on prescription prescription .

Pregnancy and lactation :
Due to the lack of studies on the effects of the product on the fetus and as it is not known whether the drug is excreted in human milk should not be used during pregnancy and lactation .

Driving and using machines :
The product is intended for short-term treatment, but prolonged use and high doses are not excluded systemic effects on the cardiovascular system, which may impair the ability to drive and use machines.

Important information about some of the ingredients of the product xylometazoline WZF 0,1%
Because of benzalkonium chloride drug can cause local irritation of the nasal mucosa.

Using other medicines:
Do not apply the formulation during the treatment with tricyclics or MAOIs ( drugs used to treat depression ) due to the rare cases of interaction. Concomitant use of other sympathomimetic agents ( ephedrine , pseudoephedrine ) should be avoided .
Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines , even those that you do not prescribed.

3 . How to use xylometazoline WZF 0,1%
One drop contains 0,05 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Children 12 years and older
Local in 2 - 3 drops of a 0,1% solution in each nostril 2 - 3 times a day .
Reuse should be performed only if that treatment is interrupted for several days.
Therapy should not last more than 3-5 days without consulting a doctor.
Do not apply doses higher than recommended .
Due to hygienic reasons a package must be used by one patient only .

If you take more xylometazoline WZF 0,1% than had
Substantial overdose or accidental oral intake of the product, especially by children, can cause drowsiness, impairment of vision, headache , nervousness, abnormal heartbeat , insomnia .
Long administration can lead to secondary rhinitis treatment -resistant (rhinitis medicamentosa).
In case of overdose advice.
Symptomatic treatment is carried out according to the doctor's appointment . Gastric lavage is done only in case of accidental oral ingestion .

4 . Possible side effects
Like all medicines , xylometazoline WZF 0,1% may cause adverse effects.

General disorders and those associated with nasal administration :
Rare: local irritation , burning, unpleasant dryness of the nasal mucosa ;
Very rare: weakness, nausea.
Respiratory and thoracic disorders:
Rare: Sneezing .
Disorders of the nervous system :
Very rare : headache, drowsiness or sedation expressed after overdose.
Violations by the cardiovascular system :
Very rare: palpitations , increased blood pressure.
Some individuals might develop any side effects while using xylometazoline WZF 0,1%.

5 . Storage xylometazoline WZF 0,1%
Keep out of reach of children .
Do not store above 25 ° C. Protect from light.
Shelf life after opening is 12 weeks.
Do not use xylometazoline WZF 0,1% after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

6 . Additional information
1 ml contains :
Active substance : 1,0 mg Ksilometazolinov hydrochloride.
Excipients : Sodium dihydrogen phosphate , H2O , disodium hydrogen phosphate , 12 H2O , sodium chloride , sorbitol, disodium EDTA , benzalkonium chloride, distilled water.
