Omeprazole is degraded in the liver, making it possible to change and delay this process for other drugs that also degrade it. Such drugs are, for example some products for the treatment of the nervous system (diazepam, triazolam, flurazepam, heksabarbital, citalopram, imipramine, clomipramine, disulfiram.); to treat epilepsy (phenytoin) to reduce blood clotting (warfarin).
It therefore needs a regular control in patients who receive those products, as in some cases it is necessary to reduce the dosage administered. We need regular monitoring levels of cyclosporine in the blood in patients who are treated with this product, as omeprazole may lead to price increases. Omeprazole must be administered with atazanavir. When co-administered with a combination of protivirusnite preparations saquinavir and ritonavir, omeprazole can increase their levels.
Omeprazole leads to:
♦ raise the blood levels of the antibiotic clarithromycin, digoxin and tacrolimus coadministration;
♦ reduce absorption in the gut lining of some medicines used to treat fungal infections such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, and vitamin you when co-administered with him;
Taking other medicines to reduce the acidity of gastric juice and metoclopramide did not alter the absorption of omeprazole.
