WHAT LEGOFER AND WHAT IT IS USED
Legofer represents iron-protein complex containing 5% trivalent iron associated with the succinyl casein. Thanks to this composition iron contained in Legofer is protected from the action of gastric juice, with the result that it does not cause irritation of the gastric mucosa. The release of iron in Legofer slowly into the lumen of the duodenum and small intestine, as a consequence of raising the normal pH and creating conditions for the dissolution of the compound and degradation of the protein shell of pancreatic enzymes. Legofer not degraded by pepsin in the stomach, but is hydrolyzed by pancreatin at neutral pH.
Legofer be used for the treatment of latent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia (iron deficiency manifest) and prevention of iron deficiency.
