A small number of people being treated with antiepileptics such as carbamazepine have had thoughts of harming or killing themselves. If these occur, immediately contact your doctor.
In patients with glaucoma should be periodically monitored intraocular pressure. Finlepsin be taken with lithium only in exceptional cases, for the prevention of manic-depressive states or their insufficient response to lithium. In this case, to avoid adverse interactions (see "Taking other medicines"), care must be taken not to exceed a certain plasma concentration of carbamazepine (8 (μg / ml), and the plasma level of lithium to keep within lower therapeutic area (0,3-0,8 mval / l). The intake of neuroleptics should be discontinued no later than eight weeks before starting treatment with carbamazepine or not to hold a joint treatment. During treatment with carbamazepine patients should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight because of the risk of photosensitivity (sensitivity to light HD skin).
The use of carbamazepine were reported serious skin rashes (Stevens-Johnson, toxic epidermal necrolysis). It is therefore necessary to control the plasma level of carbamazepine and of other AEDs. Combinations with valproic acid may lead to coma exceptionally and conditions of disorientation.
• In co-administration of carbamazepine and oral anticoagulants and drugs (anticoagulants) can reduce their effect.
So when starting or stopping treatment with carbamazepine, the dose of anticoagulants should be brought into line with clinical requirements.

• Patients who are treated with neuroleptics should be careful, as carbamazepine reduces plasma levels of these drugs and may cause worsening of the disease picture. It may need adapting the dose of the neuroleptic. Coadministration of lithium and carbamazepine may intensify the neurotoxic actions of both drugs. So if you need to be adopted at the same time, careful clinical monitoring of their blood level.
Care must be taken for the following signs of neurotoxic symptoms: disorientation, abnormal movements and gait (ataxia), tremor of the eyes (horizontal nystagmus), enhanced muscle reflexes, muscle twitching (faspikulatsii).
• Plasma concentrations of carbamazepine may be increased by: macrolide antibiotics (erythromycin);
• isoniazid (for treating tuberculosis);
• Calcium antagonists (eg. Verapamil, diltiazem), used to treat high blood pressure and heart problems;
• dextropropoxyphene and other painkillers;

The daily dose should be distributed more smaller doses throughout the day.
Combination with other anti-epileptics and other drugs during pregnancy should be avoided, as the risk of malformation in combination therapy increases.
