WHAT IS DIROTON AND WHAT IT IS USED
Diroton belongs to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitors). Diroton performs its action by expanding your blood vessels, helping to lower blood pressure and making it easier for your heart to pump blood to all parts of the body.
Your doctor has prescribed Diroton for one of the following reasons:
• Your blood pressure is too high (hypertension).
• You have a heart condition known as symptomatic heart failure, where the heart can not pump the blood to all parts of the body just as it should.
• You have experienced a myocardial infarction that can lead to a weakening of the heart function. Diroton slows down the heart function.
• You have kidney problems related to your diabetes or high blood pressure.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE DIROTON Do not take Diroton
• If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
• If you are breast-feeding
• If you have had an allergic reaction to Diroton or any of the other ingredients
• If you have had an allergic reaction that caused swelling of the hands, feet or ankles, face, lips, tongue and / or throat with difficulty in swallowing or breathing, or if you have had a history of diarrhea (ACE inhibitor) or a member of your family have had such reactions • If your heart is severely damaged and can not pump enough blood or have low blood pressure.
If you are not sure whether to start taking Diroton, talk to your doctor. Take special care with Diroton
Tell your doctor if you have or have had any health problems, especially some of the following:
• Aortic dilatation (aortic stenosis), narrowing of the renal artery (stenosis of the renal artery) or heart valves (stenosis of the mitral valve) or increased thickness of the heart muscle (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy).
• Other health problems such as:

Diarrhea or vomiting.
- Diet with reduced salt intake or if you are taking potassium supplements.
Stop taking Diroton and seek immediate medical attention if one of the following situations (allergic reaction) occurs:
- If you have difficulty breathing with or without swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or throat
- If swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or throat occurs, it can cause difficulty in swallowing.
- If severe itching occurs on the skin (with raised rashes).
Tell your doctor if you are or will be taking desensitization treatment for an allergy, when insect bites. Desensitizing treatment reduces the effects of allergy (eg, bee and ax bites), but can sometimes aggravate allergic reactions with ACE inhibitor during treatment.
Tell your doctor if you are going to have a treatment called LDL apheresis to remove cholesterol from your body using a machine.
Tell your doctor if you are going to hospital for surgery. Tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking Diroton before you are given a local or general anesthetic. Dystroton, when combined with some anesthetics, may result in a short-term drop in blood pressure shortly after taking the tablets.
