Alventa  WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR ?

Alventa is an antidepressant of the group of medicines called inhibitors of the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine and is used to treat the symptoms of depression.
Alventa is indicated for the treatment of serious and persistent anxiety, known as generalized anxiety disorder.
Alventa is also indicated for the treatment of social anxiety disorder / social phobia

BEFORE YOU TAKE Alventa
Do not take Alventa if:
- You are allergic to venlafaxine or any of the excipients of Alvent .
- Taking or have recently taken any other type of antidepressant known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors .

Take special care when taking Alvent :
- In children and adolescents under 18 years - is not usually prescribed to children and adolescents under 18 years
- When taking this medicine, patients under 18 have an increased risk of side effects such as suicide attempt , suicidal thoughts and hostility.
- If you suffer from liver or kidney disease . In this case, the dose may be lower.
- If you have a history of epilepsy
- If you have a history of heart disease
- If you have or have a history of abnormally high mood
- If you suffer from diabetes
- If you have eye problems or eye disease
- If you have bruises on the body or bleed more easily
- If you are elderly and use of diuretics
- If you have difficulty urinating
- If you have high or low blood pressure
- If redness , rash or other allergic reaction.

Pregnancy and lactation
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. The risk to your child can not be totally excluded.
Venlafaxine passes into breast milk.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Alventa
Alventa contains sucrose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars , contact your doctor before taking this medicine .

HOW TO TAKE Alventa
The usual starting dose is one capsule of 75 mg daily at approximately the same time every day, morning and evening. It is possible , however, your doctor may decide that you better not take another dose . It can increase the dose of 150 mg, 225 mg or 375 mg daily. If you suffer from liver or kidney disease, your doctor will reduce the dose.
Swallow the capsules whole with water drink after a meal. Do not break , crush, crush or chew the capsules.
For oral use .

Major depressive episode
The starting dose is 75 mg once daily. The dose may be increased at intervals of about 2 weeks or more up to the maximum daily dose of 375 mg
GAD
The recommended dose is 75 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 150 mg once daily , and subsequently to the maximum dose of 225 mg, with intervals of at least 4 days between each increase .
social phobia
The recommended dose is 75 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 150 mg once daily , and subsequently to the maximum dose of 225 mg, with intervals of at least 4 days between each increase .
 
SIDE EFFECTS
Common:
- Increase in cholesterol in your blood , weight loss ;
- Difficulty falling asleep or sleepy, fussy , aggressive , restless dreams
- Dizziness strange feeling in the body as " pins and needles "
- Blurred vision
- High blood pressure, hot flushes
- yawning
- Changes in appetite
- Constipation , nausea , vomiting , dry mouth ,
- Increased sweating
- Changes in sexual function

Uncommon:
- Low levels of sodium in the blood
- Lack of emotion or enthusiasm
- Muscle cramps
- Tinnitus
- Irregular heart beat
- Lowering of blood pressure
- Clenching or grinding of the teeth , change in sense of taste
- Inflammation of the skin
- Difficulty urinating
- Menstrual disorders

rare:
- Prolongation of bleeding, unusual bleeding
- Convulsions, high spirits or strong agitation,
- Confusion , anxiety , sweating, trembling suddenly
- Tar black stools
- Itching, yellowing of the skin or eyes , dark urine

Very rare:
- Decrease in the number of leukocytes in the blood
- Drastic reduction in the number of white blood cells, which makes more frequent infections
- Blood disorders
- Severe allergic disorders
- Muscle stiffness
- Increased intraocular pressure
- Difficulty breathing , chest pain
- Inflammation of the pancreas
